Find the gaps before a customer does

Stop wondering whether your pilot plan is ready. Get an independent review so you can walk into customer, investor, or funding meetings with clearer proof, stronger metrics, and fewer weak spots.

Send your deck, answer a short questionairre, and receive your Diagnostic within 5 working days. Fixed fee: £1,495.

Expose the gaps before they cost you

Unclear success criteria, broad claims, unrealistic scope, missed constraints, or vague customer value can kill all momentum. The Diagnostic identifies the issues most likely to slow down the next conversation, so you can fix them before someone else points them out.

Make your pilot easier to approve

A strong pilot proposal removes friction. It makes clear what the pilot will test, what the host needs to provide, and what a successful outcome could unlock. The Diagnostic helps turn a pilot idea into something a customer, funder, or partner can assess quickly and seriously.

Qualify the right opportunities

Not every interested partner is worth pursuing. Some lack urgency, budget, ownership, technical fit, or a credible route to adoption. The Diagnostic helps you spot which opportunities deserve your limited time, so you can focus on the ones worth trying to win.

Testimonials

Alexander Barg, Co-founder & CTO

"The Pilot Strategy Diagnostic gave us a clear, practical, and highly relevant report. It successfully highlighted a few blind spots in our go-to-market positioning, particularly the risk around our compliance-related messaging and the strategic need to narrow our initial pilot scope away from flagship corporates towards more agile customer segments. This is a service we can definitely see other hardware tech providers finding extremely useful, as it provides a sobering 'outside-in' perspective before approaching major partners. For an early-stage startup, it’s a high-value tool because it prevents us from wasting months on the wrong 'dream partners' and helps us tighten our messaging before we hit the big players."

Laura Hellqvist, Co-founder & COO

"The Level Four Seven Pilot Strategy Diagnostic gave us something we hadn't been able to produce ourselves: an honest view of how our pilot proposition looks from the other side of the table. The report is specific, structured, and directly actionable. It identified real gaps in our scope definition, KPI readiness, and partner targeting that needed to be addressed before any outreach. The host-perspective framing throughout is the most useful part; it's easy to be close to your own materials and miss how they land on a potential partner. We came away with a clear list of fixes and confidence that the core idea is credible. Well worth it for any early-stage team preparing to run their first pilots."

Powered by our Industry Partner Network

A pilot project proposal can look strong from the technology side and still raise practical concerns for a potential client.

Level Four Seven’s Industry Partner Network brings in a demand-side perspective, so your diagnostic is shaped by how real organisations think about risk, value, constraints, timing, and internal approval.

Our Industry Partners include consultants, executives, advisors, and leaders who are inside or close to organisations facing practical challenges. Alongside our Expert Evaluators, they help us understand what the people who need to trust, approve, and host a pilot will care about, what constraints they face, and what kind of proposition is likely to be taken seriously.

This means we can help you move beyond a generic pilot idea and think more clearly about where the technology may create value, what a potential host would need to see, and how the opportunity should be framed.

You’ll receive a detailed report covering your pilot strategy’s strengths, weaknesses, gaps and risks, initial KPI suggestions, partner profile guidance, recommended next steps, and more.

Your Diagnostic fee is credited in full against the Pilot Strategy Clinic.

If you want to go deeper

The Pilot Strategy Diagnostic helps surface the gaps, risks, and unanswered questions in your current pilot strategy.

For some teams, this is enough to make the next improvements internally. For others, the next challenge is working out how to close those gaps in a way that fits their technology, market, team, resources, funding position, and commercial priorities.

That is where the Pilot Strategy Clinic comes in. The Clinic is a deeper, collaborative process where we work with your team to interpret the Diagnostic findings, understand the context behind them, and develop a more credible pilot strategy that reflects your real constraints and opportunities.

FAQ

Who is the Pilot Strategy Diagnostic for?

It is for technology providers preparing for customer, investor, accelerator, funding, or pilot partner conversations. It is particularly useful if you have a promising technology, but need a sharper pilot proposition before asking others to engage.

You start by completing a short form and sharing the most relevant information about your technology, pilot thinking, target market, and existing materials. After that, no further effort is normally required from your side until the report is delivered.

At a minimum, just a pitch deck and the answers to the questions on the intake form. Other useful (but not required) materials may include product summaries, pilot proposal documents, trial results, or previous case-study material.

The intake form asks for your Technology Description, IP Status, Key Metrics and Achievements, Customers to Date, Technology Readiness Level (TRL), Expected Pilot Start Date, Expected Pilot Duration, Pilot Summary, Target Pilot Sector, Dream Partner Companies, Deployment Requirements, Regulatory Considerations, Desired Outcomes, and Budget Expectations.

Yes. We treat submitted materials as confidential and use them only to assess your pilot proposition and prepare your Diagnostic. We do not share your materials with potential partners without your permission.

No, but you should have more than just an idea. The Diagnostic is best suited to companies with a prototype, demonstrator, early product, technical validation, or a clear technology basis. Ideally at around TRL 4-7.

No. The Diagnostic can help before you have identified a pilot host. It can also help if you already have a potential partner and want to sharpen the proposition before the next conversation.

The Diagnostic is designed to strengthen your pilot proposition before you approach customers, funders, investors, accelerators, or potential hosts. Where there is a strong plan, clear fit, and a relevant opportunity within our network, we may discuss possible introductions as a separate next step.

No. It is not a formal technical audit, certification review, or due diligence process. It is a strategic review of your pilot proposition: what you are trying to prove, how credible the proposition looks, where the gaps are, and what to improve next.

You are welcome to point out factual errors or missing context, and we will correct the report where appropriate.

However, we do not change our recommendations simply to make the report more favourable. The value of the Diagnostic is an independent external view of your pilot proposition, including the strengths, gaps, risks, and next steps we genuinely see.

The Pilot Strategy Diagnostic is delivered as a written report. If a follow-up discussion or deeper support would be useful, this can be handled through the Pilot Strategy Clinic or a separate engagement.

The Pilot Strategy Clinic is a more in-depth follow-on engagement for Technology Providers that want a deeper analysis of their pilot proposition.

It includes a structured review of your materials, a focused workshop with your team, and deeper analysis with relevant sector experts and industry partners where appropriate. Together, we pressure-test the pilot idea, examine gaps and risks, clarify what the pilot should prove, and identify the customer types, sectors, or use cases where the proposition is strongest. Where there is a clear fit, the Clinic may also lead to targeted introductions through our network.

If you proceed to the Pilot Strategy Clinic, the full Diagnostic fee is credited against the Clinic fee.

Yes. If you proceed to the Pilot Strategy Clinic, the full Diagnostic fee is credited against the Clinic fee.

No. Your company does not need to be registered in the UK.

Level Four Seven is UK-based, but we work with technology providers internationally, with a particular focus on Europe.

Once the review has started, the fee is not refundable. If we believe the Diagnostic is clearly unsuitable based on the information submitted, we may decline the work and refund the payment.

If you have other questions, please reach out to us here. We’d be happy to talk.
